Parish and Archaeology Museum of Völs am Schlern

This museum is located in the Romanesque St. Michael's Chapel and presents an impressive collection of sacred artworks from the late Gothic period, as well as archaeological finds from the Peterbühl hill, which was already inhabited during the Bronze Age. A special highlight is the late Gothic altarpiece from the Church of St. Peter at Peterbühl, depicting the Apostle Peter between John the Evangelist and John the Baptist. The museum is open for tours every Thursday at 11:30 am from late June to early September.

Prösels Castle

Located about 5 km from Völs is Prösels Castle, an impressive building from the 13th century that was expanded into a Renaissance castle by Leonhard von Völs in the early 16th century. The castle houses a collection of weapons and armor, as well as a modern art collection. During the summer months and Christmas holidays, various cultural events such as concerts, exhibitions, and theater performances are offered here.
